Another nice day-trip from Granada is to the beautiful Laguna de Apoyo. The lagoon is one of those volano-collapsed-then-filled-with-rainwater type phenomenon. We went to a lookout to see the lagoon and the surrounding Pueblas Blancas, โWhite Townsโ which were not white, but rather pretty, small communities near the lake.

The next day we headed to the laguna to swim in the beautiful rain-water lake. An afternoon storm cut the day a little short, but was beautiful all the same.

Sounds great … rain a filled lake !
ps: Those “hairy lychees” are actually called ‘rambutan’, very common in tropical americas, i prefer lychees though, rambutans lack the ‘rose-ish’ flavour, but rambutans are less messy to open ๐
