We headed south to Granada and arrived still reeling from a serious bus-fare ripoff that resulted in being overcharged about $4. Once we arrived in Granada, however, we couldn’t stay upset for long; a more grand and perhaps bourgeois version of Leรณn and at least 5ยฐF cooler, we were won over immediately. The sunset that greeted us that first evening was a showstopper, and I couldn’t stop singing the only bits I knew of the classic โGranadaโ, namely singing โGranadaโ over and over again to the melody of the refrain. I highly encourage you listen to a rendition of the song while enjoying the photos.
Perhaps as sung by the feisty Caterina Valente (Granada)
…or by Frank (Granada)
…or by Placido (Granada)
…as you wish, we’re here to please. The original was an ode to the Granada in Spain, but I had the same sentiments for the Nicaraguan Granada. Et voila, our first evening in Granada.

Magnifique le coucher de soleil ! Superbe la cathรฉdrale de Grande ! Adorables les deux tourtereaux ! Bisous ร tous les deux.
